At UNCDF, we are committed to ensuring that all our programmes, projects, and financial transactions uphold the highest standards of social and environmental safeguards, stakeholder engagement, transparency, and accountability. In alignment with UNDP’s Policy on Social and Environmental Standards and the associated Accountability Mechanism (compliant with UNDP POPP), we provide accessible and independent mechanisms for people and communities affected by our work to raise concerns and seek resolutions.

About

The UNCDF follows the UNDP Accountability Mechanism, composed of two complementary functions. Our mechanism provides two complementary ways for people to raise concerns related to the social and environmental impacts of our projects.

Explore their websites for more information:

1. The Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU)

This part of the Accountability Mechanism reviews concerns that UNDP may not be meeting its social and environmental commitments in its activities and considers requests from individuals and communities seeking independent attention.

2. The Stakeholder Response Mechanism (SRM)

This part of the Accountability Mechanism helps project-affected stakeholders, UNDP's partners (governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), businesses) and others jointly address grievances or disputes related to the social and/or environmental impacts of UNDP-supported projects.
