Where we work

UNCDF has been present in Guinea since 1982, helping the country meet its development challenges by supporting decentralization and efforts to bolster civic participation in public management.

Today, UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the domestic level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development.

Through Local Development Finance, UNCDF is implementing Programme de développement local en Guinée (PDLG II) project; supporting decentralization and civic engagement to combat poverty. This goal is achieved by strengthening local capacities in planning and introduction of financing tools for municipal management, establishing a local development fund to finance local development actions, supporting the development of mechanisms for fiscal and financial transfers, and participatory planning of local development actions.
