On 17 December, UNCDF participated in the Open Working Group Informal meeting on measuring progress. The meeting was aimed at discussing the experiences gained in the MDG monitoring and implementation, in the context of the post-2015 development agenda, including the SDGs. Members of the statistical community – including UNDP, Eurostat, and statistical agencies of countries such as Brazil, India and Mexico – discussed the challenges related to ensuring the measurability of goals and targets in the framework of SDGs.

The next day, UNCDF participated in the Inter-agency Meeting convened by the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Islands and Developing States (UN- OHRLLS) to discuss the preparation of a Ministerial Conference on “New Partnerships for the Development of Productive Capacities in Least Developed Countries” to be held in Cotonou, Benin, in April 2014. UNCDF expressed its commitment to support the Ministerial Conference and to contribute, inter alia, with knowledge on good practices and projects in its areas of expertise.
