The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is looking for incumbents and innovators that are able to provide innovative and scalable solutions in one of the two following areas of intervention:
1) Deploy or leverage open APIs that can enable the roll out of innovative digital solutions or service offerings that that improve the livelihoods of low-income, last-mile communities in Uganda (namely women, refugees, youth, MSMEs) – with a primary focus on the sectors of finance, agriculture, education, health and energy.
2) Deploy or leverage shared open data systems to enable the roll out of innovative digital solutions or service offerings that improve the livelihoods of low income, last mile communities in Uganda (namely women, refugees, youth, MSMEs) – with a primary focus on the sectors of finance, agriculture, education, health, energy.
Under this partnership, applicants shall target at least one of the following segments: smallholder farmers, women, youth, refugees or MSMEs in the geographies of Northern Uganda and/or West Nile.
Applicants may apply independently or in a consortium, provided that the consortium has a pre-established partnership prior to when this request for applications was issued. Please verify the eligibility conditions on Section 3.1. of the RFA .
For each of the two areas of intervention, UNCDF will award one (1) applicant, who scores the highest in accordance to the “Evaluation Criteria” as set forth in section 3.2. The best candidate for each area will receive:
- A grant contribution to implement the project up to 200,000 USD
- Technical assistance by UNCDF team through the lifetime of the partnership.
UNCDF will sign a Performance-Based Agreement (PBA) with the selected applicants.
