Summary

2020 was an extraordinary year as the world wa rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of the challenges created by the pandemic the programme team was able to achieve positive results. Road rehabilitations works kicked off, our investment team continued to work with small and medium enterprises (SMEs)providing business development support to enable them to develop bankable proposals and resultantly and additional 11 projects submitted for funding. We also continued to work with local governments to deliver relevant training and mentoring sessions to support their work.

The past year has shown the need for flexibility in responding to emerging situations. The programme has demonstrated its agility by responding quickly to new challenges. Digital innovations have played a key role in business continuity.

The report summarizes our activities and results from 2020 working with local governments and SMEs in Northern Uganda.

The Development Initiative for Northern Uganda (DINU) programme is a Government of Uganda programme supported by the European Union under the overall supervision of the Office of the Prime Minister. The overall goal of the programme is to consolidate stability in Northern Uganda , reduce poverty as well as undernutrition and strengthen the foundations for sustainable and inclusive socio-eonomic development.
