The Last Mile Finance Trust Fund is structured as a flexible funding vehicle for UNCDF to allocate resources through thematic windows related to LDC development opportunities and challenges. The five thematic windows are:

1. Green Economy

2. Food Security and Nutrition

3. Infrastructure and Services

4. Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth

5. Financial Inclusion Platforms and Technology/Innovation Frontiers

In addition, a Country Expansion window has been established to enable UNCDF to take its finance models into more LDCs in these early days of SDG implementation, and to strengthen programmes in LDCs based on demand.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation (Sida) has generously agreed to be the initiating contributor to this new Trust Fund.
