Eswatini
UNCDF works in Eswatini to enhance inclusive finance through demographic analytics in Eswatini as well as in the region, and connecting private funding to previously under-served areas.
Today, UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the domestic level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development.
Through financial inclusion, UNCDF is implementing the Making Access Possible (MAP) programme, producing diagnostics of financial inclusion through data disaggregated by gender, geography, income and other demographics, and encouraging private investment into expanding rates and outreach of financial inclusion. Recent pilots in Eswatini under MAP focused on risk based approaches to anti-money laundering/combating financing terrorism (AML/CFT), credit information sharing, and basic income for remittance receving families during COVID-19.
