UNCDF works in Viet Nam to encourage inclusive finance focusing on women's empowerment as well as micro, small and medium enterprises.

Today, UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the domestic level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development.

UNCDF is also implementing the Making Access Possible (MAP) programme, producing diagnostics of financial inclusion data disaggregated by gender, geography, income and other demographics, and encouraging private investment into expanding rates and outreach of financial inclusion. In 2021, the MAP programme published an authoritative publication charting the progress of financial inclusion in ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam.
