International Training Programme on Municipal Finance and Local Democracy
The International Programme on Municipal Finance and Local Democracy is implemented by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Swedish International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD). The programme covers five countries (Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa) and aims at building the capacity of local authorities in municipal financing. The 18 month International Programme offers training in public financing and Local Economic Development and empowers local government officials to identify, utilise financing for municipal development projects.
