Alan Mitchell Fox is a Senior Advisor for Impact Management and Measurement at the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) based in Geneva.
Alan recently completed 15 years with UNDP, serving as Deputy Director of the Independent Evaluation Office. Previous positions include Vice President for the infrastructure division of the Finnish engineering and consulting company Pöyry PLC, Associate Assistant Administrator for Water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Special Assistant to the Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio.
At UNCDF, Alan suports the conceptualization and launch of the new Impact Measurement, Verification and Learning (IMVL) unit, which was designed to strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems and improve results and impact assessment and reporting. The IMVL unit will create a new set of monitoring, verification, learning, and reporting tools that align internal systems with impact- and results-oriented outcomes, helping UNCDF deliver actionable insights and enhance development impact.
Alan is an American national born in New Delhi, India. He holds an MBA from the University of Pretoria and a BA from Case Western Reserve University.
