Why do we run Inclusive Innovation Challenges?
UNCDF aims to cultivate a culture of innovation by working with public and the private stakeholders who share our vision of an inclusive digital economy.
Innovation helps market adapt to the fast changing market dynamics and the evolving needs of customers unleashed by new technologies.
Understanding that each market has its own challenges and opportunities, we remain optimistic that developing and least developed countries can deliver innovative changes at scale.
What do we do?
Our Inclusive Innovation Challenges are based on a market development approach where we work with service providers, start-ups and entrepreneurs and users of digital services in the country to understand their needs and goals.
We focus on combining crowdsourcing, behavioral science and technology that generate ideas across a broad range of sectors including agriculture, finance and health.
This approach is based on our learnings and experiences from implementations in Nepal, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia where UNCDF supports service providers and entrepreneurs to develop use cases for customers, companies and governments.
Solution Showcase
Through the inclusive innovation workstream, UNCDF partners with innovative fintech companies and start-ups to not only increase access and usage of financial products but also scale innovative solutions to solve challenges in agriculture, energy, education, health and transport.
